| EdTech Tool Uses: | Chamilo is an open-source (distributed under the GNU/GPLv3+ license and its development process is public) Learning Management System (LMS) / Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Features include document and resource distribution and sharing, assessments, attendance monitoring, glossary, blogs, wikis, surveys, synchronous and asynchronous discussion facilities, etc. It can integrate with a number of other free systems, including BigBlueButton and OpenMeetings for video conferencing/synchronous classrooms. Chamilo requires a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) server to run and can integrate with institutional services such as LDAP and Shibboleth for authentication. |
